The project consisted of the installation of a new Double C10x20 wale on existing steel sheet pile bulkhead. The new wale was secured through the installation of 1-3/4-inch-diameter steel tie-rods. Other major scopes of work included the cleaning and coating of existing steel sheeting, as well as the installation of a new reinforced concrete slab. The “Iron Pier” is home to the Delaware River’s oldest sailing club and last surviving steamboat landing.
