Pier Fender Replacement & Repair
Home / Ports & Terminals / Pier Fender Replacement & Repair

The Delaware River and Bay Authority has awarded multiple contracts to Agate Construction for the repair, replacement and maintenance of the fender systems at the Cape May and Lewes Ferry Terminals. The Fender Replacement work consisted of new steel fender panels with keeper chain supports and the replacement of rubber fender elements in the berthing slips at both terminals. Additional work has included installation of monopiles and breasting dolphins, vessel life safety system installation, steel sheet pile wall rehabilitation and cathodic protection systems.

The DRBA has also relied on Agate Construction as the go-to solution for several emergency repair projects.

Working around Large Active Vessels: These projects require coordination with the DRBA to ensure that the ferry terminal remained open and on-schedule during construction.
