Absecon Inlet Jetty Repair
Home / Shoreline Protection / Absecon Inlet Jetty Repair

The Absecon Inlet Jetty Repair project consisted of the reconstruction of 1062 LF of the existing Absecon Inlet Jetty. This portion of the jetty was reconstructed through the removal of the top stone layer of the jetty crest; rebuilding the core box with new imported 3-14 lbcore stone wrapped in a geotextile fabric; placement of the secondary layer consisting of new imported 0.75 to 1.4 ton secondary stone; and the reconstruction of the jetty crest using a combination of existing cap stone and supplementary new imported 11-20 ton cap stone. This scope also included grout sealing the top 18”-24” of the jetty with 4500 PSI concrete, which added structural stability and recreational enhancement. The revitalized Absecon Inlet Jetty added shore protection from storm surge and wave action, preventing coastal erosion.
